01 "An Act relating to public school curriculum and textbook restrictions based on science,                                
02 resource development, and sustained yield principles."                                                                  
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 14.30.380 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
05            (b)  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the governing body of each                                  
06       public school in the state shall base curriculum development and textbook selection on                            
07                 (1)  the constitutional principles of                                                                   
08                      (A)  utilization, maintenance, and sustained yield of all natural                                  
09            resources belonging to the state, including fish, forests, wildlife, land, water,                            
10            and other renewable resources; and                                                                           
11                      (B)  utilization and development of all nonrenewable resources                                     
12            in addition to encouragement of balancing resource development and                                           
13            conservation under (a) of this section;                                                                      
14                 (2)  scientific principles, without bias and without regard to personal
