00 SENATE BILL NO. 308 01 "An Act relating to the determination of population for purposes of per capita payment 02 increases under the community revenue sharing program; and providing for an effective 03 date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 29.60.860(c) is amended to read: 06 (c) For purposes of this section, the population of a municipality, reserve, or 07 community in the unorganized borough shall be determined by using [THE 08 NUMBERS OF PERMANENT FUND DIVIDEND RECIPIENTS OR OTHER] 09 population data that the department determines is reliable, except that the population 10 determination for a municipality or reserve may not be less than the latest annual 11 estimate of the local population by the United States Bureau of the Census. For 12 purposes of determining the population of a borough, the population of each city in the 13 borough shall be deducted from the total borough population. 14 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 2010.
