01 "An Act establishing an executive secretary position for the Board of Public                                            
02 Accountancy."                                                                                                           
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 08.04 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 08.04.055. Executive secretary of board. (a) The department, in                                       
06       consultation with the board, shall employ a certified public accountant or person who                             
07       has other accounting experience satisfactory to the board and who is not a member of                              
08       the board to serve as executive secretary of the board.                                                           
09            (b)  The executive secretary shall perform duties as prescribed by the board.                                
10    * Sec. 2. AS 08.04.070 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                              
11            (h)  The board shall define by regulation the qualifications and duties of the                               
12       executive secretary and delegate authority to the executive secretary as necessary to                             
13       conduct board business.
