00 HOUSE CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 184(STA) 01 "An Act relating to public access to legislative committee meetings during regular 02 legislative sessions by Internet broadcast." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 24.05 is amended by adding a new section to read: 05 Sec. 24.05.186. Access to committee meetings by Internet broadcast. Each 06 room that is regularly used during regular legislative sessions for meetings of 07 committees of the legislature shall be equipped with a fixed camera capable of 08 producing an audio and video feed without an operator once turned on. During regular 09 sessions of the legislature, each meeting of a standing, special, joint, or permanent 10 interim committee that is held in a room with a fixed camera shall be recorded and the 11 live feed made immediately available to the public through Internet broadcast so that 12 the public may easily observe and listen to the meeting while it is in progress. 13 However, periods when a committee is in executive session, in recess, or at ease may 14 not be recorded, nor may a live audio or video feed of those periods be made available
01 to the public through Internet broadcast. The electronic recordings produced by a fixed 02 camera under this section are not public records and are not required to be retained or 03 stored.
