01 "An Act relating to public access to legislative committee meetings during regular                                      
02 legislative sessions by Internet broadcast."                                                                            
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 24.05 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 24.05.186. Access to committee meetings by Internet broadcast. Each                                   
06       room that is regularly used during regular legislative sessions for meetings of                                   
07       committees of the legislature shall be equipped with a fixed camera capable of                                    
08       producing an audio and video feed without an operator once turned on. During regular                              
09       sessions of the legislature, each meeting of a standing, special, joint, or permanent                             
10       interim committee, except for executive sessions, that is held in a room with a fixed                             
11       camera shall be recorded and the live feed made immediately available to the public                               
12       through Internet broadcast so that the public may easily observe and listen to the                                
13       meeting while it is in progress. The electronic recordings produced by a fixed camera                             
14       under this section are not public records and are not required to be retained or stored.
