00 SENATE BILL NO. 130 01 "An Act establishing the Alaska Economic Stimulus, Stability, and Job Security Task 02 Force; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 05 to read: 06 ALASKA ECONOMIC STIMULUS, STABILITY, AND JOB SECURITY TASK 07 FORCE. (a) The Alaska Economic Stimulus, Stability, and Job Security Task Force is 08 established in the legislative branch of state government. The task force consists of nine 09 members appointed as follows: 10 (1) the speaker of the house of representatives shall appoint three members 11 from the house of representatives; 12 (2) the president of the senate shall appoint three members from the senate and 13 one member who is a representative of the Alaska Municipal League; and 14 (3) the governor shall appoint two members from the executive branch.

01 (b) The members of the task force shall select a chair from among the legislative 02 members of the task force. The staff of the legislative members of the task force serve as staff 03 for the task force. 04 (c) The task force shall 05 (1) prepare an assessment of money appropriated for Alaska under the 06 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, P.L. 111 - 5, and identify potential 07 recipients of the money; and 08 (2) recommend to the legislature how money appropriated for Alaska under 09 the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and Alaska resources can best be used 10 to stimulate Alaska's economy and minimize the effect of the national recession on Alaska's 11 economy over the next 24 months. 12 (d) The task force shall meet at least six times. The task force may meet in locations 13 other than the capital. 14 (e) The task force shall submit the assessment and recommendations in a draft report 15 to the legislature before May 1, 2009. 16 (f) The task force shall submit a final report to the legislature before July 1, 2009. 17 * Sec. 2. This Act is repealed on July 1, 2009. 18 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
