04    * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                          
05 to read:                                                                                                                
06       SUSPENSION OF SCHOOL EXPERIENCE FACTORS AS APPLICABLE TO                                                          
07 SALARY SCHEDULES. (a) The provisions of AS 14.16.050(a)(3)(C) and AS 14.20.220,                                         
08 relating to school experience factors applicable to determine the salaries of employed                                  
09 teachers, are suspended between July 1, 2009, and June 30, 2011.                                                        
10       (b)  On or after July 1, 2011, the salary of a teacher whose salary has been determined,                          
11 taking into consideration the suspension provided under (a) of this section, may not be                                 
12 reduced by the application of AS 14.16.050(a)(3)(C) or AS 14.20.220 to an amount that is less                           
13 than the amount of the teacher's salary in effect on the last day of the school term ending                             
14 immediately before July 1, 2011.
