01 "An Act making a special appropriation to The Alaska Community Foundation; and                                          
02 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. An amount equal to the unencumbered balance of the Alaska children's trust                            
05 (AS 37.14.200) on the effective date of this Act, based on the Department of Revenue's                                  
06 schedule of investment income and changes in invested assets, estimated to be $12,000,000, is                           
07 appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Commerce, Community, and                                        
08 Economic Development for payment as a grant under AS 37.05.316 to The Alaska                                            
09 Community Foundation for child abuse and neglect treatment and prevention activities and                                
10 programs.                                                                                                               
11    * Sec. 2. CONTINGENCY. Section 1 of this Act is contingent on passage by the Second                                
12 Regular Session of the Twenty-Fifth Alaska State Legislature and enactment into law of a bill                           
13 repealing the statutes related to the Alaska children's trust (AS 37.14.200 - 37.14.270).                               
14    * Sec. 3. If, under sec. 2 of this Act, this Act takes effect, it takes effect June 30, 2008.
