01 Suspending Rules 24(c), 35, 41(b), and 42(e), Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature,                            
02 concerning House Joint Resolution No. 9, urging the United States Congress to honor the                                 
03 process and judgment of the federal courts in the case of the Exxon Valdez disaster and to                              
04 refrain from enacting legislation that would affect the outcome of the courts' resolution of the                        
05 case.

07 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                             
08      That under Rule 54, Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature, the provisions of                               
09 Rules 24(c), 35, 41(b), and 42(e), Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature, regarding                             
10 changes to the title of a bill, are suspended in consideration of House Joint Resolution No. 9,                         
11 urging the United States Congress to honor the process and judgment of the federal courts in                            
12 the case of the Exxon Valdez disaster and to refrain from enacting legislation that would                               
13 affect the outcome of the courts' resolution of the case.
