01 "An Act establishing Older Alaskans' Day."                                                                              
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to article 2 to read:                                     
04            Sec. 44.12.100. Older Alaskans' Day. The second Wednesday of September                                     
05       of each year is established as Older Alaskans' Day to honor residents of the state who                            
06       are 60 years of age or older for the many contributions made by older Alaskans to the                             
07       state. The day may be celebrated by public ceremonies and by quiet appreciation.
