01 "An Act relating to tracking of sex offenders and child kidnappers."                                                    
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 12.55 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
04            Sec. 12.55.141.  Special sentencing provisions for sex offenders and child                                 
05       kidnappers.  (a)  In addition to any other penalties imposed under this chapter, a court                        
06       shall, following the release from any period of imprisonment imposed, place a person                              
07       convicted of a sex offense or child kidnapping on probation for the remainder of the                              
08       person's life and require as a condition of the probation that the person wear an                                 
09       electronic bracelet that monitors and identifies the person's location.                                           
10            (b)  In this section, "child kidnapping" and "sex offense" have the meanings                                 
11       given in AS 12.63.100.                                                                                            
12    * Sec. 2.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
13 read:                                                                                                                   
14       APPLICABILITY.  This Act applies to offenses committed on or after the effective                                  
15 date of this Act.
