00 HOUSE BILL NO. 264 01 "An Act relating to concert tickets, to concert promoters, and to persons who rent real 02 property to concert promoters for concerts." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 08.92.035 is amended to read: 05 Sec. 08.92.035. Required ticket information [REFUND CAPTION 06 REQUIRED]. Tickets for concerts subject to the provisions of this chapter shall be 07 printed with the promoter's name and the number of the promoter's certificate of 08 registration issued under AS 08.92.010. [BUSINESS ADDRESS OF THE 09 PROMOTER AND THE FOLLOWING CAPTION: "IN THE EVENT OF 10 CONCERT CANCELLATION, REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE 11 ABOVE LOCATION BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9:00 a.m. AND 5:00 p.m. FOR 12 A PERIOD OF 10 DAYS AFTER THE SCHEDULED DATE OF THE CONCERT."] 13 * Sec. 2. AS 08.92 is amended by adding a new section to read: 14 Sec. 08.92.044. Verification of registration. Before a person rents real

01 property to a promoter for a concert, the person shall verify that the promoter has a 02 current certificate of registration issued under AS 08.92.010. 03 * Sec. 3. AS 08.92.070 is amended to read: 04 Sec. 08.92.070. Exemption. The provisions of this chapter do not apply to 05 concerts promoted by [, ORGANIZED, OR PRODUCED] 06 (1) [BY] a nonprofit corporation, society, or group that has qualified 07 for nonprofit status under sec. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 08 501(c)(3)), or by a person who is not an employee of the nonprofit corporation, 09 society, or group but who provides concert promotion services to the nonprofit 10 corporation, society, or group without being compensated; 11 (2) [BY] a promoter for presentation within a municipality having a 12 population of less than 10,000 persons.
