00 HOUSE BILL NO. 261 01 "An Act making appropriations and a reappropriation related to power projects; and 02 providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. The sum of $6,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Alaska 05 Energy Authority for allocation under AS 42.45.065 and payment to Copper Valley Electric 06 Association, Inc., for reimbursement of costs incurred in cogeneration projects. 07 * Sec. 2. The sum of $12,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department 08 of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development for payment as a grant under 09 AS 37.05.316 to the Matanuska Electric Association for transmission system improvements. 10 * Sec. 3. The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of 11 Commerce, Community, and Economic Development for payment as a grant under 12 AS 37.05.316 to the Matanuska Electric Association for relocation and improvement of 13 substations. 14 * Sec. 4. The sum of $2,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of

01 Commerce, Community, and Economic Development for payment as a grant under 02 AS 37.05.316 to the Matanuska Electric Association for relocation of power transmission 03 lines directly affected by growth and new activities. 04 * Sec. 5. The sum of $3,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Alaska 05 Energy Authority for upgrades to the Alaska intertie and tower repair. 06 * Sec. 6. The unexpended and unobligated balance of the appropriation made in sec. 78(c), 07 ch. 1, SSSLA 2002, is reappropriated to the Alaska Energy Authority to fix unbalanced snow 08 loading problems. 09 * Sec. 7. The appropriations made by secs. 2 - 6 of this Act are for capital projects and 10 lapse under AS 37.25.020. 11 * Sec. 8. This Act takes effect July 1, 2005.
