00 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 284(STA) 01 "An Act relating to an optional election to prevent the name and address of a permanent 02 fund dividend applicant from being disclosed, except to a local, state, or federal 03 government agency, or in compliance with a court order." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 43.23 is amended by adding a new section to read: 06 Sec. 43.23.017. Election to keep name confidential. The department shall 07 include on each permanent fund dividend application form the option for an applicant 08 to elect to keep the applicant's name and address confidential. An individual who files 09 a dividend application on behalf of another may elect to keep the filer's name and 10 address and the name and address of the individual on whose behalf the application is 11 filed confidential. Notwithstanding other provisions, if a confidentiality election is 12 made under this section, the department may only release the name and address 13 (1) to a local, state, or federal government agency; 14 (2) in compliance with a court order.
01 * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 02 read: 03 APPLICATION. AS 43.23.017, added in sec. 1 of this Act, applies to applications for 04 the 2005 permanent fund dividend and for dividends for years thereafter.
