01 "An Act relating to donations for establishment of a state veterans' home."                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 44.21.035(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
04            (a)  The Department of Administration shall apply for federal assistance to                                  
05       establish and operate state veterans' home facilities that provide domiciliary care and                           
06       nursing home care with related medical services.  The department may also accept                              
07       gifts, grants, bequests, or other donations from private individuals or                                       
08       organizations that are restricted by the donor for use in establishing a state                                
09       veterans' home.  The department, within available funds, shall establish and operate                          
10       veterans' homes at sites selected by the commissioner of administration after                                     
11       consultation with the adjutant general and veterans' organizations.
