00 SENATE BILL NO. 158 01 "An Act transferring the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault from the 02 Department of Public Safety to the Department of Health and Social Services; and 03 providing for an effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 18.66.010 is amended to read: 06 Sec. 18.66.010. Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault; 07 purpose. There is established in the Department of Health and Social Services 08 [PUBLIC SAFETY] the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. The 09 purpose of the council is to provide for planning and coordination of services to 10 victims of domestic violence or sexual assault or to their families and to perpetrators 11 of domestic violence and sexual assault and to provide for crisis intervention and 12 prevention programs. 13 * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 14 read:
01 TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS. (a) Litigation, hearings, investigations, and other 02 proceedings pending under a law amended by this Act continue in effect and may be 03 completed notwithstanding the transfer provided for in this Act. 04 (b) Contracts, rights, liabilities, and obligations created by or under a law amended by 05 this Act, and in effect on June 30, 2003, remain in effect notwithstanding this Act's taking 06 effect. 07 (c) Records, equipment, appropriations, and other property of the Council on 08 Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault are transferred with the council in order to implement 09 this Act. 10 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect July 1, 2003.
