01 Relating to municipal property tax adjustments for property affected by a disaster.

03    * Section 1.  AS 29.45.230(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
04            (a)  The municipality may by ordinance provide for assessment or                                         
05       reassessment and reduction of taxes for property destroyed, damaged, or otherwise                                 
06       reduced in value as a result of a [NATURAL] disaster.                                                             
07    * Sec. 2.  AS 29.45.230(d) is amended to read:                                                                     
08            (d)  In [ENACTING] an ordinance [OR RESOLUTION] authorized by this                                           
09       section, the municipality shall establish criteria for the reduction of taxes on                          
10       property damaged, destroyed, or otherwise reduced in value as a result of                                     
11       disaster, and may, consistent with this section, prescribe procedures, restrictions, and                      
12       conditions for [OF] assessing or reassessing property and for [OF] remitting,                             
13       refunding, or forgiving taxes.                                                                                    

01    * Sec. 3.  AS 29.45.230(e) is repealed.
