00 SENATE BILL NO. 2003 01 "An Act making appropriations; and providing for an effective date." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. The following appropriations are 04 made to the Department of Public Safety for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002: 05 (1) the sum of $172,900 is appropriated from the general fund to the 06 Department of Public Safety, Alaska state troopers, prisoner transportation, for increased 07 prisoner transports; 08 (2) the sum of $125,300 is appropriated from the general fund to the 09 Department of Public Safety, Alaska state troopers detachments, for increased fuel costs; 10 (3) the sum of $40,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 11 Department of Public Safety, Alaska state troopers detachments, for recruitment academy 12 training costs; 13 (4) the sum of $59,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 14 Department of Public Safety, Alaska state troopers detachments, for costs of hiring 15 emergency guards in situations where there are no jail facilities;
01 (5) the sum of $87,500 is appropriated from the general fund to the 02 Department of Public Safety, Alaska state troopers detachments, for medical examination 03 costs of victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse. 04 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
