01 "An Act relating to water quality standards applicable to flow-through hot springs                                      
02 pools."                                                                                                                 
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 44.46 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
05            Sec. 44.46.028.  Flow-through hot springs pools.  (a)  A flow-through hot                                  
06       springs pool, whether natural or modified, is exempt from further water quality                                   
07       regulation by the Department of Environmental Conservation while the fecal coliform                               
08       count in the pool is maintained at 100 colonies or less per 100 milliliters and the pool                          
09       is free from dangerous levels of disease-causing pathogens.                                                       
10            (b)  In this section, "flow-through hot springs pool" means a pool in which the                              
11       water from a naturally occurring hot spring constantly enters the pool to replace an                              
12       equal amount of water constantly being drained from the pool.
