01 "An Act relating to a study of the economic and social effects of the permanent fund                                    
02 dividend on the state."                                                                                                 
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                         
05 to read:                                                                                                                
06       STUDY OF EFFECTS OF PERMANENT FUND DIVIDEND.  The Department of                                                   
07 Community and Economic Development and the Department of Labor and Workforce                                            
08 Development shall jointly conduct a study of the economic and social effects of the                                     
09 permanent fund dividend on the state and prepare a report explaining the scope of the study                             
10 and conclusions reached.  The report shall be delivered to the legislature on or before                                 
11 January 15, 2003.
