00                   HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 11                                                                   
01 Proposing an amendment to the Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature relating                                    
02 to the Education Committee, a standing committee of the legislature.                                                    
03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  Rule 20(a), Uniform Rules of the Alaska State Legislature, is amended to read:                       
05            (a)  Each house has the following standing committees with the jurisdiction                                  
06       indicated:                                                                                                        
07            Finance (all appropriation, revenue, capital improvement, and bonding                                        
08       measures, the executive budget, and the programs and activities of the Department of                              
09       Revenue)                                                                                                          
10            Health [, EDUCATION] and Social Services (the programs and activities of                                     
11       the Department of Health and Social Services [, THE DEPARTMENT OF                                                 
12       EDUCATION, AND THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA])                                                                         
13            Judiciary (the programs and activities of the Alaska Court System and the                                    
14       Department of Law, and the legal and substantive review of bills referred to it for that                          
15       purpose)                                                                                                          
16            Labor and Commerce (the programs and activities of the Department of Labor                                   

01       relating to labor-management relations, industrial safety, unemployment                                           
02       compensation, and workers' compensation and the programs and activities of the                                    
03       Department of Commerce and Economic Development)                                                                  
04            Community and Regional Affairs (the programs and activities of the                                           
05       Department of Community and Regional Affairs and other matters relating to political                              
06       subdivisions)                                                                                                     
07            Resources (the programs and activities of the Departments of Fish and Game,                                  
08       Natural Resources, and Environmental Conservation)                                                                
09            Rules (interpretation of the Uniform Rules, calendar, the internal                                           
10       administration of the house and matters pertaining to the management of the                                       
11       legislature as a whole)                                                                                           
12            State Affairs (programs and activities of the Office of the Governor and the                                 
13       Departments of Administration, Military Affairs and Public Safety, and programs and                               
14       activities of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities relating to public                           
15       facilities)                                                                                                       
16            Transportation (programs and activities of the Department of Transportation                                  
17       and Public Facilities relating to transportation and other legislative matters relating to                        
18       transportation)                                                                                                   
19            Education (programs and activities of the Department of Education and                                    
20       Early Development and the University of Alaska).                                                              
21    * Sec. 2.  The amendment proposed by this resolution takes effect on the convening of the                          
22 First Regular Session of the Twenty-Third Alaska State Legislature.
