01 "An Act relating to the use of unclaimed property to pay court-ordered restitution; and                                 
02 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 34.45.380(f) is amended to read:                                                                  
05            (f)  Unless another state files a claim to recover the property, if the identity of                          
06       the owner of the property is known, the department shall apply the fair market value of                           
07       the property to satisfaction of the following, in the order listed:                                           
08                 (1)  the child support obligations of the owner;                                                
09                 (2)  upon application of the Department of Law or submission of                                     
10       documentation satisfactory to the Department of Revenue, court-ordered                                        
11       restitution owed by the owner under AS 12 or AS 47, including any interest,                                   
12       collection costs, and attorney fees awarded by the court.                                                     
13    * Sec. 2.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
14 read:                                                                                                                   

01       APPLICABILITY.  This Act applies to a payment made by the Department of                                           
02 Revenue under AS 34.45 on or after the effective date of this Act.                                                      
03    * Sec. 3.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
