00 CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 422(RES) 01 "An Act authorizing the commissioner of fish and game to issue complimentary sport 02 fishing licenses and tags to September 11 emergency responders and their spouses; and 03 providing for an effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 06 to read: 07 COMPLIMENTARY SPORT FISHING LICENSES FOR SEPTEMBER 11 08 EMERGENCY RESPONDERS. The commissioner of fish and game may issue a 09 complimentary sport fishing license and appropriate sport fishing tag to a visitor to the state 10 who, at some time between September 11, 2001, and November 11, 2001, inclusive, 11 participated as a fire fighter, police officer, or emergency medical services provider at the site 12 of the World Trade Center in New York City or the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., for use in 13 any one season before December 31, 2003, during the fire fighter's, police officer's, or 14 emergency medical service provider's visit to the state. A complimentary license and tag may
01 also be issued to the spouse of an eligible fire fighter, police officer, or emergency medical 02 services provider. The commissioner may not issue more than 250 complimentary licenses 03 and 250 complimentary tags during a calendar year under this section. 04 * Sec. 2. Section 1 of this Act is repealed December 31, 2003. 05 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
