01 "An Act relating to civil liability for emergency aid."                                                                 
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 09.65.090(f) is amended to read:                                                                  
04            (f) In this section, "properly trained" means that the individual has completed a                        
05       cardiopulmonary resuscitation training course approved by the Department of                                   
06       Health and Social Services that included training in the use of an automated                                  
07       external defibrillator; an automated external defibrillator training course from the                          
08       American Heart Association or [,] the American Red Cross; [,] or another automated                        
09       external defibrillator training course approved by the Department of Health and Social                            
10       Services.                                                                                                         
11    * Sec. 2.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
12 read:                                                                                                                   
13       APPLICABILITY.  This Act applies to a civil action that accrues on or after the                                   
14 effective date of this Act.
