01 "An Act relating to the use of pictures in election materials."                                                         
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 15.60 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
04            Sec. 15.60.003.  Use of pictures in election materials.  The lieutenant                                    
05       governor and the division may not place a picture of an elected state official in                                 
06       election material, including voter registration materials and materials encouraging                               
07       individuals to vote, except in the official election pamphlet as required by                                      
08       AS 15.58.020.  For purposes of this section, "elected state official" means the                                   
09       governor, lieutenant governor, a lieutenant governor who serves as acting governor or                             
10       who succeeds to the office of the governor, or a legislator, including a person who has                           
11       been appointed a member of the legislature by the governor to fill a vacancy in the                               
12       legislature.
