01 "An Act authorizing the commissioner of fish and game, with the concurrence of                                          
02 the Board of Fisheries or the Board of Game, to award grants for habitat                                                
03 restoration, access, or enhancement projects; and providing for an effective date."                                     
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
05    * Section 1.  AS 16.05 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
06  Sec. 16.05.085.  Grant authority.  The commissioner may award grants from                                           
07 federal funds, other than funds received under the federal Pittman - Robertson and                                      
08 Dingell - Johnson/Wallop - Breaux programs, for habitat restoration, access, or                                         
09 enhancement projects.  The award of a grant under this section is subject to                                            
10 concurrence by the Board of Fisheries or the Board of Game, whichever is appropriate.                                   
11 The commissioner may adopt regulations to implement this section.                                                       
12    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2000.
