00SENATE BILL NO. 155 01 "An Act relating to methods of payment of and reports concerning certain state 02 salaries and business expenses." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 22.20.037 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 05  (d) The administrative director of the court system shall file a travel and 06 compensation report with the legislature by January 31 of each year. The report must 07 contain detailed information for the previous calendar year of the salaries, per diem, 08 travel expenses, relocation expenses, and any additional allowances for 09  (1) each justice of the supreme court; 10  (2) each judge of the court of appeals; and 11  (3) the administrative director of the court system. 12 * Sec. 2. AS 24.10.120 is repealed and reenacted to read: 13  Sec. 24.10.120. Method of payment. (a) Salaries, per diem, travel expenses, 14 relocation expenses, and additional allowances for members of the legislature shall be

01 paid as approved by the legislative fiscal officer. 02  (b) The legislative fiscal officer shall file a travel and compensation report 03 with the legislature's fiscal office by January 31 of each year. The report must contain 04 detailed information for the previous calendar year of the salaries, per diem, travel 05 expenses, relocation expenses, and any additional allowances for each legislator and 06 each legislative director. 07 * Sec. 3. AS 37.05.210 is amended to read: 08  Sec. 37.05.210. Fiscal reporting and statistics. The Department of 09 Administration shall 10  (1) file with the governor and with the legislative auditor before 11 December 16 a report of the financial transactions of the preceding fiscal year and of 12 the financial condition of the state as of the end of that year, prepared in accordance 13 with generally accepted accounting principles and audited by the legislative auditor in 14 accordance with generally accepted audit standards, with comments and supplementary 15 data that the Department of Administration considers necessary; this report shall be 16 printed for the information of the legislature and the public; 17  (2) compile statistics necessary for the budget and other statistics 18 required by the governor ; 19  (3) file a travel and compensation report with the legislature by 20 January 31 of each year containing detailed information for the previous calendar 21 year of the salaries, per diem, travel expenses, relocation expenses, and any 22 additional allowances for 23  (A) the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the chiefs of 24 staff of the governor and lieutenant governor; 25  (B) the president and vice-president of the University of 26 Alaska and the chancellors of the individual campuses of the university; 27  (C) the commissioners or other executive heads of the 28 principal departments in the executive branch of state government, and the 29 deputy commissioners and division directors in those departments; and 30  (D) the executive heads of public corporations created by 31 law .
