01 "An Act granting authority to each municipality to be a debtor under 11 U.S.C.                                          
02 (Federal Bankruptcy Act) and to take any appropriate action authorized by federal                                       
03 law relating to bankruptcy of a municipality."                                                                          
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
05    * Section 1.  AS 29.71 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
06  Sec. 29.71.025.  Municipal bankruptcy.  The state grants authority to each                                          
07 municipality to be a debtor under 11 U.S.C. (Federal Bankruptcy Act) and to take any                                    
08 appropriate action authorized by federal law relating to bankruptcy of a municipality.
