01 "An Act relating to obligations and payments to the state under fishery                                                 
02 cooperative contracts; and providing for an effective date."                                                            
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  AS 43.77 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
05  Sec. 43.77.015.  Obligations and payments under fishery cooperative                                                  
06 contracts.  (a)  The department shall deposit a payment made to the state under a                                      
07 contract subject to sec. 210(f), American Fisheries Act, P.L. 105-277, into the separate                                
08 account established under AS 43.77.050(b).                                                                              
09  (b)  An obligation imposed by a contract subject to sec. 210(f), American                                             
10 Fisheries Act, P.L. 105-277, shall be treated as if it were a tax under this chapter for                                
11 purposes of AS 43.77.020.  A payment made to satisfy the obligation imposed by the                                      
12 contract shall be treated as if it were tax revenue collected under this chapter for                                    
13 purposes of AS 43.77.060.                                                                                               
14    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
