01 "An Act relating to public school funding; and providing for an effective date."                                        
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03    * Section 1.  AS 14.17.905 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                          
04  (b)  Notwithstanding (a)(3) of this section, an alternative school shall be                                           
05 counted as a separate school if the school is                                                                           
06   (1)  in a separate facility and is administered as a separate school;                                                
07   (2)  a charter school operated in a facility separate from a facility used                                           
08 for other students; or                                                                                                  
09   (3)  approved by the board as a separate alternative school.                                                         
10    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 1999.
