00HOUSE BILL NO. 174 01 "An Act relating to personal services contracts for certain employees of electric 02 cooperatives." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 10.25.200 is amended to read: 05 Sec. 10.25.200. Officers and employees . The officers of a cooperative are 06 those officers authorized by the bylaws. The officers shall be elected annually by the 07 board of directors from among its members. If authorized by the bylaws, the election 08 may be conducted by written ballot. When a person holding an office ceases to be a 09 director, that person ceases to hold office. The board of directors may appoint those 10 other agents or employees that it considers necessary or advisable and shall prescribe 11 their powers and duties. An officer may be removed from office and a successor 12 elected in the manner prescribed in the bylaws. An electric cooperative may not 13 enter into a personal services contract that has a term that exceeds 12 months 14 with a person employed in an executive, administrative, or professional capacity
01 unless the members of the cooperative have approved the terms of the contract. 02 * Sec. 2. This Act does not amend or terminate the terms of a personal services contract 03 or collective bargaining agreement in effect on the effective date of this Act.
