01 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Alaska relating to                                           
02 consent or notification of a parent or legal guardian before an abortion is                                             
03 provided to a minor.                                                                                                    
04 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
05    * Section 1.  Article I, Constitution of the State of Alaska, is amended by adding a new                          
06 section to read:                                                                                                        
07  Section 25.  Abortions for Minors.  Notwithstanding any other provision of                                          
08 this constitution, the legislature may, to the extent permitted by the Constitution of the                              
09 United States, grant to a minor child's parent or legal guardian either the right to                                    
10 consent or the right to be notified before a person may provide an abortion to the                                      
11 child.                                                                                                                  
12    * Sec. 2.  The amendment proposed by this resolution shall be placed before the voters of                          
13 the state at the next general election in conformity with art. XIII, sec. 1, Constitution of the                        
14 State of Alaska, and the election laws of the state.
