01 "An Act relating to assisted living homes."                                                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03    * Section 1.  BASE RATE PAID FOR RESIDENTS IN ASSISTED LIVING HOMES.                                               
04 The Department of Health and Social Services shall increase the daily base rate payable by                              
05 the department for adult residential care in an assisted living home licensed under AS 47.33                            
06 to $70.  The department may pay more than the daily base rate for the care of a person in an                            
07 assisted living home if greater than average expenditures are required to meet the person's                             
08 needs as determined by the department under its regulations.  This section does not apply to                            
09 rates paid under AS 47.07 (Medicaid).
