00SENATE BILL NO. 225 01 "An Act making a special appropriation under art. IX, sec. 17(c), Constitution of 02 the State of Alaska, from the constitutional budget reserve fund to the build 03 Alaska fund; and providing for an effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. (a) The sum of $1,500,000,000 is appropriated from the constitutional budget 06 reserve fund (art. IX, sec. 17, Constitution of the State of Alaska) to the build Alaska fund 07 (AS 35.45.120). 08 (b) The appropriation made by (a) of this section is made under art. IX, sec. 17(c), 09 Constitution of the State of Alaska. 10 (c) The appropriation made by (a) of this section is to capitalize a fund and does not 11 lapse. 12 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect only if a bill is enacted before November 15, 1998, that 13 establishes the build Alaska fund (AS 35.45.120). 14 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect on the earlier of the following two dates: July 1, 1999, or
01 the date that the lieutenant governor certifies that a majority of votes cast on an advisory 02 question asking whether the legislature should appropriate $1,500,000,000 from the 03 constitutional budget reserve fund (art. IX, sec. 17, Constitution of the State of Alaska) to 04 capitalize the build Alaska fund (AS 35.45.120) is in favor.
