00SENATE BILL NO. 210                                                                                                   
01 "An Act relating to electronic deposit of workers' compensation benefits."                                              
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03    * Section 1.  AS 23.30.155(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
04  (a)  Compensation under this chapter shall be paid periodically, promptly, and                                        
05 directly to the person entitled to it, without an award, except where liability to pay                                  
06 compensation is controverted by the employer.   Upon request by the employee, an                                       
07 employer shall pay compensation due the employee by electronic deposit.   To                                           
08 controvert a claim ,  the employer must file a notice, on a form prescribed by the board,                             
09 stating                                                                                                                 
10   (1)  that the right of the employee to compensation is controverted;                                                 
11   (2)  the name of the employee;                                                                                       
12   (3)  the name of the employer;                                                                                       
13   (4)  the date of the alleged injury or death; and                                                                    
14   (5)  the type of compensation and all grounds upon which the right to                                                

01 compensation is controverted.
