01 "An Act providing the commissioner of natural resources with the authority to                                           
02 make grants of state land to municipalities for the construction and operation of                                       
03 sport and recreational facilities and structures."                                                                      
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
05    * Section 1.  AS 38.05.810 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                          
06  (j)  The commissioner may grant undeveloped state land to a municipality for                                          
07 the construction and operation of sport or recreational facilities or structures by the                                 
08 municipality.  The commissioner shall retain a reversionary interest on each grant of                                   
09 land under this subsection.  Land granted under this subsection may be used to trade                                    
10 for other land that is necessary for the construction and operation of a particular sport                               
11 or recreational facility or structure.  Land granted under this subsection, or land                                     
12 received in a trade for land granted under this subsection, must be developed by the                                    
13 municipality for the sport or recreational facilities and structures within four years of                               
14 receipt of the grant.
