01 "An Act relating to an infant care curriculum in the public school system."                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03    * Section 1.  AS 14.30.360(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
04  (a)  Each district in the state public school system shall be encouraged to                                           
05 initiate and conduct a program in health education for kindergarten through grade 12.                                   
06 The program should include instruction in physical health and personal safety including                                 
07 alcohol and drug abuse education, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), early cancer                                     
08 prevention and detection, dental health, family health  including infant care ,                                       
09 environmental health, the identification and prevention of child abuse, child abduction,                                
10 neglect, sexual abuse ,  and domestic violence, and appropriate use of health services.
