01 "An Act relating to contracts for public construction projects."                                                        
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03    * Section 1.  AS 36.30 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
04  Sec. 36.30.960.  Preference for project labor agreements prohibited.  In                                            
05 awarding a contract in an amount greater than $100,000 for construction to which this                                   
06 chapter applies or to which procurement procedures adopted under AS 36.30.015(e) -                                      
07 (h), 36.30.020, or 36.30.030 apply, the procurement officer may not require the                                         
08 contract to contain a provision for a project labor agreement or give a preference to                                   
09 a bid, proposal, or other response because it includes a provision for a project labor                                  
10 agreement.                                                                                                              
11    * Sec. 2.  This Act applies to public construction contracts the specifications of which are                       
12 first advertised on or after the effective date of this Act.
