00HOUSE BILL NO. 243 01 "An Act extending the date for a review of and a report on the current law 02 regarding subsistence use of fish and game and delaying the repeal of the current 03 law regarding subsistence use of fish and game; amending the effective date of 04 secs. 3 and 5, ch. 1, SSSLA 1992; and providing for an effective date." 05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 06 * Section 1. Section 9(a), ch. 1, SSSLA 1992, as amended by sec. 1, ch. 68, SLA 1995, 07 and sec. 1, ch. 130, SLA 1996, is amended to read: 08 (a) The legislature acknowledges and recognizes that this Act deals with a 09 subject of vital concern and that the subject merits review. Therefore, it is the intent 10 of the legislature that the operation of this Act and the regulations adopted under this 11 Act be fully reviewed by the governor no later than February 1, 1999 12 [DECEMBER 31, 1997]. 13 * Sec. 2. Section 9(d), ch. 1, SSSLA 1992, as amended by sec. 2, ch. 68, SLA 1995, and 14 sec. 2, ch. 130, SLA 1996, is amended to read:
01 (d) No later than February 1, 1999 [FEBRUARY 1, 1997], the governor shall 02 provide a report to the legislature on the results of the review and proposed 03 recommendations for statutory amendments. 04 * Sec. 3. Section 12, ch. 1, SSSLA 1992, as amended by sec. 3, ch. 68, SLA 1995, and 05 sec. 3, ch. 130, SLA 1996, is amended to read: 06 Sec. 12. Sections 3 and 5 of this Act take effect October 1, 1999 [1997]. 07 * Sec. 4. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
