01 "An Act relating to the sale of farmed salmon products."                                                                
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 17.05 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                   
04  Sec. 17.05.025.  Sale of farmed salmon products.  (a)  A person may not sell,                                         
05 trade, or barter a farmed salmon product in the state.                                                                  
06  (b)  In this section, "farmed salmon product" means a food product that                                               
07 contains salmon that is propagated, farmed, or cultivated in an aquatic farm; in this                                   
08 subsection,                                                                                                             
09   (1)  "aquatic farm" means a facility that grows, farms, or cultivates                                                
10 salmon in captivity or under positive control, but does not include a salmon hatchery                                   
11 that is owned by the state or that holds a salmon hatchery permit under AS 16.10.400;                                   
12   (2)  "positive control" has the meaning given in AS 16.40.199;                                                       
13   (3)  "salmon" means a Pacific salmon, Atlantic salmon, or hybrid                                                     
14 salmon.
