00SENATE BILL NO. 326                                                                                                     
01 "An Act providing for an advisory vote regarding regaining state management                                             
02 of fish and game throughout this state; and providing for an effective date."                                           
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  The lieutenant governor shall place before the qualified voters of the state at                        
05 the November 1996 general election a question advisory to the legislature regarding whether                             
06 steps should be taken to regain state management of fish and game throughout this state.  The                           
07 question shall appear on the ballot in the following form:                                                              
08                                       QUESTION                                                                          
09 Should the people of Alaska be given an opportunity to vote on                                                        
10 an amendment to the Alaska Constitution that would allow the                                                            
11 State of Alaska to have a preference for subsistence use of fish                                                        
12 and wildlife by rural residents?                                                                                        
13 YES [  ]   NO  [  ]                                                                                                  
14    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
