01 "An Act relating to issuance of special request commemorative gold rush motor                                           
02 vehicle license plates."                                                                                                
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS  28.10.181 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
05  (s)  Special request gold rush commemorative plates.  The department shall                                            
06 issue registration plates commemorating the gold rush period in the state upon                                          
07 application by the owner of a passenger vehicle, noncommercial van or pick-up truck,                                    
08 or motor home.  The commissioner, after consulting with the Alaska Gold Rush                                            
09 Centennial Task Force, shall determine the design of gold rush commemorative plates.
