DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION. United States of America, et al. (A93- 28 023 CI); 29 (2) Ken Sorenson, et al. v. State of Alaska, et al. (3AN-91-10649 CI); 30 (3) Walter Decker v. State of Alaska, Department of Health and Social Services, 31 division of medical assistance (3AN-94-9994 CI).

01 * Sec. 4. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. (a) Subject to (b) of this section, the sum 02 of $936,600 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Corrections to pay 03 court-ordered fines in Cleary, et al. v. Smith, et al. (3AN-81-5274 CI) for the fiscal years 04 ending June 30, 1995, and June 30, 1996. 05 (b) The appropriation made by this section is contingent upon the attorney general's 06 notification to the revisor of statutes and the office of management and budget that no pending 07 issues exist on the status of payment of fines and no court order has been entered in Cleary, et 08 al. v. Smith, et al. (3AN-81-5274 CI) that precludes the Alaska Court System from depositing 09 the fines collected under (a) of this section in the general fund. 10 * Sec. 5. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. EXXON VALDEZ OIL SPILL TRUSTEE COUNCIL. The appropriations to 10 implement Trustee Council restoration projects for federal fiscal year 1996, which were made 11 under the program review procedures of AS 37.07.080(h) and set out in revised programs 11- 12 6-9990 and 11-6-9992, lapse into the funds from which appropriated on September 30, 1996. 13 * Sec. 17. LAPSE PROVISIONS. (a) The appropriations made by secs. 8(b) and 13 of 14 this Act are for capital projects and lapse under AS 37.25.020. 15 (b) The appropriation made by sec. 10 of this Act is for the capitalization of a fund and 16 does not lapse under AS 37.25.010. 17 * Sec. 18. EFFECTIVE DATES. (a) Section 4(a) of this Act takes effect on the date that 18 the attorney general provides the notification described in sec. 4(b) of this Act to the revisor 19 of statutes and the office of management and budget. 20 (b) Except as provided in (a) of this section, this Act takes effect immediately under 21 AS 01.10.070(c).
