01 "An Act prohibiting increases in health insurance premiums if the insured is a                                          
02 victim of domestic violence."                                                                                           
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 21.36 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                   
05  Sec. 21.36.430.  PROHIBITED PREMIUM INCREASES IN DISABILITY                                                           
06 INSURANCE.  An insurer may not increase the premium on a disability insurance                                           
07 policy if the increase results only from the fact that the insured was a victim of                                      
08 domestic violence directed against a spouse.                                                                            
09    * Sec. 2.  This Act applies to a policy of insurance that is entered into or renewed on or                           
10 after the effective date of this Act.
