00HOUSE BILL NO. 334 01 "An Act exempting certain natural gas exploration facilities from regulation for 02 purposes of preparation of discharge prevention and contingency plans and 03 compliance with financial responsibility requirements." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 46.04.050(b) is amended to read: 06 (b) The provisions of AS 46.04.030 and 46.04.040 do not apply 07 (1) to a natural gas exploration facility for which the Alaska Oil 08 and Gas Conservation Commission certifies that there is reasonable probability 09 that the activities of the exploration facility are not directed to producing 10 formations containing gas in combination with oil; and 11 (2) to a natural gas production facility and a natural gas terminal 12 facility; for purposes of this paragraph [SUBSECTION] the terms "natural gas 13 production facility" and "natural gas terminal facility" 14 (A) [(1)] mean a platform, facility, or structure that is used
01 solely for the production, compression, storage, or transport of natural gas; 02 (B) [(2)] do not include a platform, facility, or structure that 03 produces, stores, or transports natural gas in combination with oil.
