01 "An Act making special appropriations to the Department of Education for construction or                                
02 upgrade of schools on military installations; and providing for an effective date."                                     
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  Contingent upon an agreement by the federal government to match the amount                             
05 appropriated under this section on a dollar-for-dollar basis, the sum of $6,800,000, or a lesser                        
06 amount equal to the amount the federal government agrees to match on a dollar-for-dollar basis,                         
07 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education for the construction of a                          
08 new elementary school facility at Eielson Air Force Base.                                                               
09    * Sec. 2.  Contingent upon an agreement by the federal government to match the amount                                
10 appropriated for upgrade of an existing school facility listed in this section on a dollar-for-dollar                   
11 basis, the amount set out in this section, or a lesser amount equal to the amount the federal                           
12 government agrees to match on a dollar-for-dollar basis, is appropriated from the general fund to                       
13 the Department of Education for upgrade of that facility:

07    * Sec. 3.  If the Department of Education has not entered into an agreement with the federal                         
08 government that the federal government will match the maximum amount appropriated under this                            
09 Act for a particular facility on a dollar-for-dollar basis, the portion of the appropriation made by                    
10 this Act for that facility that is not subject to an agreement with the federal government is repealed                  
11 June 30, 2000.                                                                                                          
12    * Sec. 4.  If the Department of Education has entered into an agreement with the federal                             
13 government that the federal government will match the amount appropriated under this Act for                            
14 a particular facility on a dollar-for-dollar basis, the appropriation made by this Act for that facility                
15 lapses under AS 37.25.020.                                                                                              
16    * Sec. 5.  This Act takes effect July 1, 1995.
