01 "An Act requiring an inflation adjustment of the instructional unit value used in                                       
02 the foundation formula; and providing for an effective date."                                                           
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 14.17.056 is amended to read:                                                                       
05  Sec. 14.17.056.  INSTRUCTIONAL UNIT VALUE.  The instructional unit                                                    
06 value is $61,000.  However, this amount increases to the extent of increases in the                                    
07 Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers for the Anchorage Metropolitan                                             
08 Area compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Department of                                            
09 Labor.  The index for January 1994 is the reference base index.                                                        
10    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 1995.
