01 "An Act exempting the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute from the State                                                 
02 Procurement Code."                                                                                                      
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 36.30.015 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                            
05  (h) The board of directors of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute shall adopt                                      
06 procedures to govern the procurement of supplies, services, and professional services.                                  
07 The procedures must be similar to the procedures prescribed in this chapter and in                                      
08 regulations adopted under this chapter.                                                                                 
09    * Sec. 2.  AS 36.30.990(1) is amended  to read:                                                                      
10     (1)  "agency"                                                                                                      
11    (A)  means a department, institution, board, commission,                                                           
12 division, authority, public corporation, the Alaska Pioneers' Home, or other                                            
13 administrative unit of the executive branch of state government;                                                        
14    (B)  does not include                                                                                              

01   (i)  the University of Alaska;                                                                                     
02   (ii)  the Alaska Railroad Corporation;                                                                             
03   (iii)  the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation;                                                                     
04   (iv)  a regional Native housing authority created under                                                            
05 AS 18.55.996 or a regional electrical authority created under                                                           
06 AS 18.57.020;                                                                                                           
07   (v)  the Department of Transportation and Public                                                                   
08 Facilities, in regard to the repair, maintenance, and reconstruction of                                                 
09 vessels, docking facilities, and passenger and vehicle transfer facilities                                              
10 of the Alaska marine highway system;                                                                                    
11   (vi)  the Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation;                                                                
12   (vii)  the Alaska State Pension Investment Board;                                                                  
13   (viii)  the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute;
