01 "An Act relating to compensation for members of the Local Boundary                                                      
02 Commission."                                                                                                            
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 44.47.579 is amended to read:                                                                       
05  Sec. 44.47.579.  COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES.  (a)  Except as                                                        
06 provided in this subsection, a member of the Local Boundary Commission is                                               
07 entitled to compensation at a rate of $100 for each day or part of a day that the                                       
08 member is engaged in the actual performance of duties as a member of the                                                
09 commission and for each day that the member is engaged in travel as a member                                            
10 of the commission.  The commission may provide by regulation for compensation                                           
11 for partial days during which a member is engaged in travel as a member of the                                          
12 commission.  A member is not entitled to receive more than $4,000 in                                                    
13 compensation for full or partial days in a fiscal year.                                                                
14  (b)  Members of the Local Boundary Commission [RECEIVE NO PAY BUT]                                                  

01 are entitled to the travel expenses and per diem authorized for members of boards and                                   
02 commissions under AS 39.20.180.
