01 "An Act authorizing the Bureau of Vital Statistics to release certain information                                       
02 for the purpose of organ and tissue donations."                                                                         
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 18.50.310 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                            
05  (i)  If, for the purpose of facilitating the donation of bodily organs or tissues,                                    
06 a person who provides transplant services for bodily organs or tissues requests                                         
07 information contained on a death certificate pertaining to next of kin and medical                                      
08 suitability, the bureau may release that information to the person or the person's                                      
09 representative.
